Our secret weapon: Honesty
When it comes to render, thickness and smoothness of application make all the difference.
The catch: evenly applying a perfect coat of render at a thickness greater than 4mm requires technical mastery that takes years to develop. This causes less-experienced renderers to gravitate towards a thinner render application, as they can avoid screeding the render: a difficult technique that many call half-trade, half-art.
In Australia, our harsh weather fluctuations mean that render can get assaulted with rain for days, and then blasted with hot sun.
When this occurs, a thin coat of render will shrink back into the masonry, exposing the lines and imperfections of the brickwork. This causes render to look patchy, and can make an expensive facade look cheap.
Unfortunately, the expensive nature of acrylic render materials tempt many dishonest (and less experienced) renderers into cheating their customers on the thickness, knowing that the work won't show defects until months later.
At SPE, we control the thickness of our render by only installing 6mm angles - this means that we couldn't cheat even if we tried, because we must put enough material on the walls to fill out the angles.

By using our own Acrylic Render blend, we are able to carefully control the quality of all ingredients that go into our render: from sourcing the highest quality, finely-washed sand, to manipulating the thickness of our blend in order to achieve optimum results across different substrates: our SPE Technical Acrylic Render always performs well and looks visually stunning.

All of our renderers are licensed, hand-picked and very experienced.
We can work with any render specification that's required of us, across different substrates and levels of complexity. This includes cement and acrylic render to masonry, texture finish, corbelling, and render to EPS Foam and Blueboard.

Interior Render
For a touch of European flair
For homes that require interior render, we offer classical cement render, at thicknesses up to 10mm.
If your project is inspired by European interior design, a render and set plaster finish will leave your walls smooth, non-porous and almost porcelain-like.
